  Ventilators

The BD Foundation exists to create and support opportunities that improve the safety and cost of healthcare for generations to come. As part of our commitment to improving healthcare, we support select U.S.-based 501(c)(3) organisations, or 501(c)(3)-equivalent organisations outside of the United States, on the forefront of driving clinical excellence and best practices in healthcare quality and safety. To further that commitment, the Foundation recognizes and fosters BD employee efforts to improve health and wellness within our local communities through a series of grants and volunteer opportunities.

The BD Foundation launched in September 2009 with a grant from the Cardinal Health Foundation and formed a qualified 501(c)(3) non-profit in 2010 through an additional grant from BD. Learn about grant opportunities through the BD Foundation.

AVEA Ventilator

Choose the ventilation system that is the critical choice for critical care

The AVEA ventilator provides comprehensive critical care ventilation for the smallest patients in the NICU to children and adults with complex respiratory diseases.

As an integral part of the BD ventilation system solution, the AVEA ventilator not only meets your most demanding clinical needs with features, such as invasive and noninvasive ventilation for all patients types, Volumetric Capnography and Transpulmonary Pressure Monitoring, but also has the capability to bring clinicians and hospital management actionable information to help better address clinical and operational challenges in patient care.

Reduced ventilator days

Accurate esophageal pressure measurements, such as Transpulmonary Pressure, has shown to help clinicians reduce ventilator days by providing critical and actionable information.

Improved synchrony and comfort

The active exhalation valve on the AVEA ventilator promotes ventilator synchrony and comfort for your patients.

Enhanced patient and safety care

Volumetric Capnography gives clinicians more accurate tools to aid in quicker reaction during critical situations.

Accurate volume supply

The precision gas delivery system supplies accurate volumes, whether your patient demands 2 mL or 2.5 L.

3100A High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilator

                                              Prevent neonatal respiratory failure

The 3100A High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilator (HFOV) from BD is U.S. FDA-approved for intervening in treating respiratory failure in neonates. Using lung protective tools, you can apply continuous distending pressure and superimpose minimal pressure and volume swings to inflate the lung, and avoid neonatal respiratory failure. As shown in numerous clinical and peer-reviewed studies, the 3100A helps enhance patient care for critically injured neonatal and paediatric patients.

Advanced care

The 3100A HFOV delivers the standard of care for more than 90% of Level III U.S. nurseries and 75% of paediatric intensive care units (PICUs).

Avoided stretch injury

The 3100A has been awarded the Seal of Acceptance by the alliance of Children's Hospitals, Inc.

Based on research

The 3100A HFOV is one of the most studied HFOV on the market today.

3100B High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilator

Protect the lungs of critically ill patients

The 3100B HFOV from BD enables high-performance and high frequency oscillatory ventilation for adults and children weighing more than 35 kg. BD's 3100B HFOV helps protect lungs from stretching. The 3100B HFOV helps recruit and normalise lung architecture while ventilating with near-dead space tidal volumes. The 3100B HFOV provides great ventilation support and continuous distending pressures to recruit and normalise your patient's lung architecture.

Avoid stretch injury

The 3100B HFOV does not require conventional breaths, preventing stretch injury in adults.
